Through the generous support of the Ford Foundation, the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is pleased to announce the Professional Training Fellowship & Chapter Initiative.

For those of you on the fence about coming to the AAJA National Convention in Detroit, AFP photographer Stan Honda is donating the fee for one person to attend the convention. Don’t forget, we need your one or two 11 x 14 print by June 1 for the Silent Auction.

With the success of last year’s AAJA photography auction, we have shown that together we can make a difference.

Please consider donating one or two 11″ x 14″ prints to make this happen. It will go towards the AAJA Silent Photo Auction this coming August in Detroit.

Tax filing deadline is April 18th so you can procrastinate a few days, but early registration deadline for the National AAJA convention is Friday, April 15. After April 15, cost will be $75 more.

Are you an Asian American student or know of an Asian American student who might want to come to the AAJA National Convention in Detroit for Free?

AAJA is looking for Asian American students interested in working on the Student Project during the convention. All expenses will be paid for.

Seattle photographer Barry Wong’s fine art photograph “Jasmine Tea & Black Teapot,” will be installed in the Diplomatic Room at the Department of Commerce Building in Washington, D.C. this week.
